Hi everyone!  I am a late twenties guy with an opinion on just about everything.  From movies to books to romance to business, I always have something to say.  That doesn't mean that I am always right, but it sure does feel that way to me!

Please enjoy my blog and stop back and see me often to see the latest in the pages of the amerimaxx chronicle!

Gas Prices

Well, I couldn't let the topic of Gas Prices go by without at least some sort of comment.  After watching prices soar immediately following Katrina and then hear of the tales of gouging all over the country, then to see prices correct a bit and now... ugh.  It just plain sucks.

I know, in America we are still paying, ounce for ounce, less for gasoline than many other areas of the world, but the recent jump, which by the way seems to have no end, is a real killer for a lot of folks.

So what is the answer?  The ideas are wide and varied, but are they really going to have an impact?  If this is a global issue, which it is, is there any relief in sight?  Probably not.  And to top it off, today I am hearing of some gas stations are running out of supply.  Apparently some terminals were "short" on fuel today.  Great, just what we need.  A 2006 repeat of the 70's.  I know, that is a bit overboard, but it is a frustration that we all have.

Who knows, maybe someone will figure out a way to convert common garden weeds into a fuel that can power our vehicles.  I know this for sure, I feel like someone has just bent me over and stuck a fan belt in my mouth to prepare for the ride of a lifetime.  And it is not the profits that the oil execs are enjoying.  After all, this is America and if they have a product that is more "addictive" to every American than heroin, then I say, job well done.  Capitalism at its finest.  That doesn't make me feel any better when my vehicle, which has a 14 gallon tank costs $40 to fill up from a quarter of a tank.

So, if you will all join me in a single loud voice.... THIS SUCKS.

I am sure you have all seen the emails about not buying gas on a certain day or not buying gas from the two big guys (you know who they are).  While the first concept is simply useless, the second **might** work, but getting a few million people to do the same thing and stick to it is just plain silly.  After all, if we could do that, none of us would pay taxes and social security would be fixed.

I guess I have gone on enough about this.  Simple fact is, I can't really do much about it.  But I have to say, it does feel better to bitch a little ;)

9/11 Is Not Forgotten

You know, for most Americans, 9/11 was a day that changed all of us.  Each of us was changed differently, but most were affected in some way.

As time has passed, as with most things, the wounds have healed a bit, but I am stunned at how quickly I was right back in 2001 with these 911 tapes being released.  I know that the families, in some cases, wanted them to be heard and I understand that, but wow.  For myself, this is the first (and I hope the last) profound event of this kind in my memory.  And to see how quickly I fall back to the feelings of that day is overwhelming.

Well, that was a day that changed a lot of people in a lot of ways and also united a country.  Let's continue to use the memory of that day to remind us how cautious we as a county must remain.

Spring is Here...

Well, it seems that spring is finally finding its way to the mid-atlantic and I for one am just overwhelmed with excitement.  Not only does that mean warmer weather, flowers and trees sprouting out and grilling season, but that also means that the ladies start dressing less!

I have to say that one of the best parts of warm weather is the way that the ladies take great care to wear just enough clothing to be imaginative, but not enough to let you think they are innocent.  I know this isn't true for all of them, but for the ones I notice, it sure seems true.

What do you think?  Do you have a favorite spring/summer style?  My personal favorite is the tight short shorts, but hey, that's coming from an ass and leg man :)

What is Life Without Fun?

What can I say?  Without fun, life seems awful boring.  As said by that pop culture icon, Van Wilder, "Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out alive!"

So, the point here is that you have to have fun, and that is what this blog is all about.  It is about having fun sharing our views on issues.  It is true that I get to share first, but watching the responses is more "fun" for me!

Stay a while and read, respond and interact with me and with the other bloggers here.  It is quite a blast!
